Richard B. Riddick

Took today off... just watched, The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, is an animated movie starring the character Vin Diesal made hyper cool back in 2000. Dark Fury seems to take place some time between Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.

This cartoon is ULTRA violent, and I can't recommend it for children. The story gives us another glimpse into the Riddick universe, but it leaves you hungry for more. Animator Peter Chung does a great job at bringing this franchise to 2D. The fight scenes are fluid, and the overall atmosphere sucks you right in. So far, with each movie; including this cartoon, there is a sense of history and debt to this saga that for me, makes it one of the best speculative fiction epics out there.

Riddick is a great anti-hero for the ages. His reputation and antics in this dystopian-religious-techno universe, makes for an unlimited supply of stories. I can only hope that more will come.

I give Chronicles of Riddick:Dark Fury, a Black Power fist straight up with the right hand.
