This thread is for those who have family who served in the military or those who have served themselves as enlisted members of the armed forces!
It's been a year since my father passed away and was given a burial at the Dallas National Cemetery and I have his U.S. flag in my possession!
At some point I will find a location to place the flag pole as we remodel our home but I believe I am not supposed to let it touch the ground so it has to be a sturdy location!
My father was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps on February 28, 1966 having earned the rank of Corporal!
He never spoke much about his duties in the marine corps and nor did I ever ask but he did make a small comparison of an aircraft carrier and a cruise ship we were on many years ago!
These are some rare pics of him wherever he was stationed (Parris Island or Okinawa?) and one of the burial!
