My local SF club is planning to donate books to Detroit public high schools, and one of the board members asked me to recommend YA sf by black (and hispanic) authors.
The main names that came to mind were Nnedi Okorafor and Wendy Raven McNair, but I'm sure there are more!
I guess Zetta Elliott's A Wish After Midnight might work for a YA audience, and I suggested a couple works by Butler and Delany, but I'd like to recommend more contemporary work. What else would you recommend?
