    About Me:

Best known as the director of the cult film "As an Act of Protest," Dennis Leroy Kangalee (DLK) is referred to as THE NOMAD JUNKIE due to his peripatetic lifestyle and artistic restlessness, DLK is a NYC-based writer & performance artist from Queens born to Black & Indian Caribbean parents. Author of 2010 chapbook "Lying Meat" & currently performing "Gentrified Minds," a scathing solo performance with original music that excoriates gentrification, hipsters, and the dwindling rebelliousness of the NY spirit. An Outsider Artist, he has no degree and has won no awards. His poems and fiction merge the political with the personal and blur genres and boundaries, including speculative fiction, satire, and science fiction.
