About Me:

I am a teen librarian. I love speculative fiction -- horror, science-fiction, alternate history or fantasy. Within this genre, my favorite subgenres are zombies, postapocalyptic and dystopian themes. There are many great titles in young adult (teen) speculative fiction that I enjoy reading both for pleasure and so I know what to recommend to the kids. It is only recently that I have discovered African-American speculative fiction, but I am in nirvana. It is also recently that I have discovered the cultural and artistic aesthetic Afrofuturism. This is a great topic and I am going to write a paper on it. I would love to discuss literature with anyone. I would also love to swap favorite authors or books. I am available to offer recommendations in teen literature for anyone who wants to encourage young people, especially young African-Americans, to read. I hope that through this site, I can find kindred spirits who enjoy African-American horror, science-fiction and fantasy, 'cause I'm sure not finding them where I am.
