About Me:
I am a creative person in general though a math teacher by profession. I don't consider myself to be a science fiction writer anymore. I see myself as a writer of speculative fiction as we enter the age of nano computers, flying cars and functional robots. My writing is the vehicle I use to discuss social issues such as global warming, drones, and racism, which seems to be in an uptick. The discussion of race and race-related topics seems pretty absent in science fiction in particular. I don't see why that should be and mean to put it squarely back into literature so that it can be discussed by readers. I am big into infusing my work with black culture including music, dance and spirituality. It was also important to me to create realistic heroes and she-roes that I could both relate to, now in my 40's, as well as fall in love with. I hold a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Cal State.
