    About Me:

I've been into comics since I was a kid. First it was more about collecting the cards, sketching the pictures, and watching the cartoons. Now it's more about digging into the stories, characters, and themes. It's also still about the cartoons though, lol! As a Christian who's into comic books, I feel like there is a huge void to be filled in terms of telling stories about (super)heroes that focus on Christian principles and people of color. In May 2009, I decided to step out on faith and start working on my own comic, called "Lightweightz." It's about eight teens in California who discover they have unique abilities. How will they use their abilities? Will they view them as a gift or a curse? In essence, Lightweightz addresses the following questions: What if we could significantly impact others' lives by how we treat them? To what extent is the way we view ourselves and our place in the world reflected in how we relate to others? A few months later, I connected with a priest and graphic novelist Earnest Graham, and we agreed to create a comic/graphic novel about the life of the apostle Peter. Both projects are progressing nicely, and you can learn more about them by visiting the blog: www.rscomicz.com.
