About Me:
Growing up in Chicago, illustration has always been a major part of my life. One of my most vivid and cherished memories is as a child drawing on the floor of the YMCA reception offices as my grandmother worked overnight. My first professional experience was with Chicago’s Gallery 37 program while in high school.
After attaining my animation degree in Minneapolis I moved to NYC where I began selling original paintings based on my drawings on 125th Street in Harlem. One of my patrons was an administrative curator for Columbia University who invited me to have my first solo show. From then on, I felt the path of creative expression was becoming illuminated. I have exhibited original work in solo and group shows in NYC, Texas, New Mexico, and Chicago.
My animation background coupled with my love of character design and expressionism has led me to develop work that is dynamic and imaginative, which has led me on this path toward creating graphic novels, a personal goal I’ve always had.
