About Me:
I am a mixed media artist, illustrator, cartoonist, writer, and crafter. I have a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MA from the University of Illinois at Springfield. I have a certificate in multimedia design from Sessions School of Design, and a certificate from the Coursera school in Comic Books and graphic novels. I was born with albinism. I reflect that in some of my work. Many of us are mistaken for mixed race but as one of my colleagues stated, “Ain’t no White up in here.” I make art because I have a story to tell. For me it’s all about story and message. That story can be written, danced, voiced or put on canvas. We are artists. We have been given these sacred gifts. They are to be used. We have been given stories. They are to be told. My interests are: fantasy, Goddess and spirit, body difference, albinism in the pan African community, and Native American and Earth wisdom. I currently run two websites of my own and maintain one for a professional writer’s group. I have worked on graphic design and illustration commissions, but I find clients hard to deal with. I prefer to worn on my own projects.
