About Me:
I'm a born and raised dweller of Richmond, VA. Richmond can be thought of as a quiet place by people who visit or move here from bigger cities, but once you've been welcomed into the "kitchen" (you know...when you have guests come over to your home, you confine them to the living room, but when your people come over, every one ends up in the kitchen laughing and joking cause the kitchen is where it gets interesting), you'll find that Richmond is full of fun and interesting things along with secrets and scandals that people never get tired of telling. I'm real big on family and close friends. My parents have been married 35+ years and they really took their vows seriously, that good and the bad part they recited ain't no joke when you in the mist of the bad. I'm one of 4 children, # 2 in line but the 1st girl (2 baby sisters and one older brother). I'm an auntie to 2 beautiful girls and 2 handsome boys and the ten of us make up our little clan. I also have my own crew that I roll with. My six best friends and I have been down for each other for a long time, and because of that, they are worth mentioning in this blog; without them, I wouldn't know me. :-) My family and friends don't stop with them though. I'm really close to my extended family as well. I've been blessed with a big family on both sides and I grew up being raised with all of them which was so much fun. Now, that we are older, we still stick together and when someone's in pain, we all feel it. Truly, my family ROCKS! I'm in a relationship with my very best male friend, and he's also become one of the men I respect and adore. He's joined the ranks of what I consider to be what a real man is and he's one of my heroes. If I can't call on my Daddy or my Brother, then my man is going to handle it. He truly has my best interest at heart. I can't mention my Daddy and not mention Mamma. That is one woman who amazes me every day. Like all kids, I didn't want to grow up to be her. Don't get me wrong, I've always seen my mother as the best thing since chocolate cake, but I wanted to be me and I tried really hard to do that, but in the end, I turned out to be just like her: silly, fun, smart, nurturing and a giver. The only thing I didn't get from her was the ability to finish things. I am an up and down procrastinator. This survey didn't ask my favorite singer/songwriter/musician is so I'm going to tell you anyway. IT'S PRINCE!!! I "Adore" him. Not because I think he's cute (he's not my type at all), but he does what he wants, and he is who is with no apologies. Who Prince is, helps me dare to be me. I try to enhance my God given talents just like Prince has and I seek out new things to try even though I might not be good at them (like his movie career. SORRY PRINCE!). My motto use to be try everything once, but I found that can get you into a lot of unforeseen trouble, so my new one is God helps those he helps themselves. I've been letting that play in my head for a while to force me to actively change situations in my life that aren't good for me instead of just praying to God to make them go away. God answers prayer but I find that along with prayer, I had to do some things to help it along; a lot of blessed things have come out of me doing it God's way, and I feel favored by him. I'm done. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions, just email me or leave a comment, I'll try my best to get back at you! **kisses**
