Every story comes out of somewhere, every character has to sleep wither he goes into stasis where he stands or must align himself with the horizon to recharge. My theme today is taking the tiny hut and realizing an encampment or a mega-city with a serious dreamscale upgrade.
Forget dams, viaduct rivers and tube cities are in. We live in a resource channel called the grid, the linear city is more efficient. Each tube is 500 feet across with the waterway between them. The skin on the tubes is solar reactive and can be transluscent like glas or fogged to control sunlight.
The cool thing, Maglev blade structure rides on magnetic bearings, no sound, no friction. The slightest breeze creates power.
