The fact that Samuel L. Jackson seemed like a docile lap dog compared to most of his other fiery roles on his resume had me kind of disliking (a little bit) THE AVENGERS. What I thought had been a magnificent casting coup left me kind of cold when seeing the final product. I left the movie theater with a half smile on my face...I still got to watch Earth's Mightiest Heroes on screen. And Nick Fury, as played by Samuel L. Jackson, is black. But it's just not good enough. I think that I've let this "black superhero influenza" sour my future movie and comic book experiences until I start seeing some product.
