My name is Brian Williams and I'm the creator of Lucius Hammer and The Harlem Shadow (check these titles at www.ravenhammercomics.com.) Anyway...I'm tired of not being able to read quality black comic books about black superheroes. So I started writing my own. In fact...I've created an entire universe of black paranormals who are villains as well as heroes. I think it's interesting to point out that there aren't any major black super villains in the annals of comic book history...so there is yet another territory for us to trail blaze. What I would like to see out of this group is raw, butt nekkid, collaboration. People sharing ideas, expressing views and posting the wonderful ideas they have created for the world to see and enjoy. Imagine if you will that this group is a spinner rack full of diverse and exotic black superhero comics. If you have an idea that you created years ago...bring it. If you came up with something 3 days ago and you are working on it but need feedback...show it. Let's get down to the business of what it's going to take to pull black superheroes out of the closet and into the mainstream. Feel free to peruse my blog for ideas and insight into where I'm coming from...http://luciushammer.blogspot.com/2012/04/real-comic-book-life-of-lucius-hammer.html. But keep in mind...this a forum for unfettered but creative and professional energy. Let's discuss what makes for great independent comic books about black superheroes and what makes bad ones. If people want to draw on here then do so...but bring your A game. The purpose of this group is to coax the creation of some top notch characters that will hopefully one day become full blown superhero comics that you can buy at the local Target or Barnes and Noble. Let's be real on this thread but let's also be respectful. If you make comments that could be taken as negative, think about how you might be able to post that comment in a more nurturing manner so that the creator/artist/ or writer can get something from the criticism other than a bruised ego. On the other hand, if you see something being discussed here that you really like and want to support...stand up and support what you see on here. It's the only way we are going to have a say about black superheroes. Let's get it on....
