Spurred on by Free Comic Book Day and the recent release of THE AVENGERS, I have decided to throw the gauntlet down and get involved with changing comic book culture rather than complain about it. So I had the idea of making LUCIUS HAMMER # 1 and THE HARLEM SHADOW # 1 available exclusively on Black Science Fiction Society.Com for one entire week. This would give people the opportunity to read both books digitally and then we can talk. We can discuss vital things like...what was good about this comic? what wasn't so good? We can contrast and compare it to the mainstream offerings out there...and perhaps we will have more folks who are willing to offer up previews of their own independent black superhero comics. The catch here will be...if you decide to read one or both books online here and comment...you will be issued credits giving you a discount towards the actual purchase of the hard copies of LUCIUS HAMMER and THE HARLEM SHADOW Issue ONE. In addition to this...as an extra added incentive for you all to read about black superheroes voraciously...I'm also going to discount LUCIUS HAMMER Issue 2 and THE HARLEM SHADOW Issue 2. I'm telling everybody on here right now that we have to make noise to be heard...we have to create these characters and expose them. Well...I'm putting my money where my mouth is...get ready for the exclusive digital online sneak peek on Black Science Fiction Society in the next couple of weeks.
