What's up everyone. My name is Royce. I'm a new member of Black Science Fiction Society. I'm currently in the works on an animated web series called ERA. I'm attempting to fund the project through kickstarter.com. Naturally, my protagonist is black. However, I've been conflicted as to whether people would care about my story because of this. I felt black superheroes didn't get the recognition they deserved in the Sci-Fi universe. My dad told me to seek out mediums which displayed back heroes in the limelight, and that it would help boost the confidence in my own work. Unconvinced, I took his advice and stumbled up blacksciencefictionsociety.com and others like it. I was simply blown away and wanted to kick myself for not knowing of its existence sooner. Reading posts and discussion of men and women with the same goals I hope to achieve, a new flame was ignited. Traversing through these sites, I am now convinced that black superheroes CAN and Will be heard! All it will take is never giving up on our dreams. We have to let the world know that we have imagination too, and are more than capable of creating compelling and exciting stories just like everyone else.
