I enjoy the variety of hairstyles I see within the African Diaspora; twists, locs, braids, perms, dreads, afros...they look phenomenal when people know how to manage their hair.
However, I find drawing natural hairstyles to be very, very tedious. Afros, fades, perms, and thick dreads are not difficult. Microbraids, twists, and silky locs(or any small locks) on the other hand are quite a hassle for me. I'm at a point where I'll draw everything except the hair, and then later on when I have the enerrgy, take the time to draw out the hair. Interweaving braids are the worst.
Anyone have any shortcuts they use for drawing natural hairstyles? They would be greatly appreciated.
