Hi folks,

This group is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been a black sci fi member for years but on the quiet side.

A couple of days ago my arts collective The Black Futurists launched our 1st ebook. The book is based off a performance we did last year with writers, mixed media artists and musical performers. The plan is to release an ebook to correspond with every reading. Which we do every couple of months or so.

I'm using the Amazon Select program now, which gives you a few more tools to promote but requires you to only sell on Amazon for 90 days.

You can pick up a copy of the book for free here for the next 24 hours: http://amzn.to/W0v5mn

I'm wondering if folks have any ideas on best ways to promote the book and what I can expect in terms of numbers (reads, downloads, $ earned etc).

So far I've created a Facebook event announcing the sale: https://www.facebook.com/events/404905589595004/

I'm posting excerpts from the book on my Tumblr with links back to Amazon: http://boothism.tumblr.com

And doing a lot of personal Tweeting and emails and trying to get the authors involved in the promo. I think the response has been good so far. We're at a little under 400 downloads and it looks lik we'll break into the top 10 of Amazon's free African American lit section sometime tomorrow.  It feels like we're doing good but I'm not sure as it's impossible to find any ebook data on black folks.

Any suggestions or experiences that could help? Anyone else publishing ebooks primarily? I'm still not certain that black folks even read ebooks in large numbers. Most of the folks I've talked to aren't really into it.

Thanks in advance. I'm going to have to be more vocal around here from now on!
