The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC, Inc.), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit literacy and arts organization, was founded in Philadelphia, PA in May 2002 by Mr. Yumy Odom. Originally slated to be called the Pan-African Comic Convention (PAC-Con) or First World Komix Con (1st World Con), ECBACC is the region’s premiere “Black Comic Book Convention,” offering professional comic book creation workshops and youth initiatives year-round. ECBACC, Inc., a 21st century trailblazing organization, serving as a nexus and proving-ground for the modern-day traditional story-teller / griot / djeli, will be celebrating 11 consecutive years of bringing together hundreds of comic book / sci-fi / fantasy creators, their colleagues and fans in May 2012.
