Gyg Nyame is a Adinkra Cultural Symbol of the Asante (Ghana) People. meaning Literally: "except God." Symbol of the omnipotence and immortality of God. One should always have confidence in one's abilities to do things, except what God forbids. This is the first release of a series of work I'm doing called the Adinkra Symbols Collection.These Adinkra symbols are found cloth on the cloth of the Asante people. It is also worn by other ethnic groups in Ghana on a variety of social gatherings and festive occasions.
